Exhibitions
There are four exhibition rooms where we use our own collection for displays, and sometimes host exhibitions from community groups. Younger visitors often like to use the museum trail.
The Junior Room

The Junior Room
The Junior Room is always popular (the grown-ups like it too!), with loads of things to do as well as look at. There are a variety of things to play with, surprise boxes and a World War II exhibition. The contents of the Junior Room are varied from time to time.
The John Bushby Room

The Iron Age corner
The John Bushby Room (room 4) contains a permanent exhibition about the development of our area from earliest times. It contains sections on Geology and fossils, Stone Ages, Bronze and Iron Ages, the Romans in East Surrey, an Anglo-Saxon corner, medieval times and modern history. A great deal of information is packed into the available space, so you may wish to be selective. Quiz sheets are available. The Stone age exhibit features an original painting by Eileen Bushby showing Stone Age children helping their parents with the tasks of daily life.
Exhibitions in rooms 1 and 2
Rooms 1 and 2 and the corridor have exhibitions which change regularly. The museum has far too many objects in store to show them all at once.
- Room One - Lootiques. Lootiques will continue until early March ,to be followed by a joint exhibition with the British Dental Association on Sir John Tooms. He was "the father of modern dentistry" and a Caterham resident.
- Room Two - Sir John Tomes, Victorian dental pioneer and Caterham resident. Funding was secured to put on this exciting collaborative project with the BDA Dental Museum and the Hunterian Museum to mark the 350th anniversary of the Royal Society.
